Whilst primarily targetted at students, we welcome anyone who wants to know more about Jesus.
The Course began on Wednesday, 1 February 2012, with a Welcome Party, and Introduction to the course. The venue is Cafe 1901, in the old Hall of Jesmond Methodist Church.
Course Structure
The Alpha course is normally run over a period of eight to ten weeks with a day away half way through. A supper is provided before the session begins. At the end of the course a party is held to celebrate the completion of the course. The course itself is free, although if you are able, a donation towards the supper (~£3.00) is welcome.
Topics covered on the course include:
Is there more to life than this?Who is Jesus?Why did Jesus die? How can we have faith?Why and how do I pray? Why and how should I read the bible? How does God guide us?How can I resist evil? Why should I tell others? Does God heal today? What about the church? How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?
