As you know, our world and our country is currently being affected by a pandemic with the virus COVID-19. After Government and Methodist Church advice, we have suspended our Sunday morning worship gatherings and our normal midweek groups from meeting in person. We want to be safe, help stop the spread and look after those most vulnerable in our community and the wider field. More about this can be found in the video from our Lay Pastor back on the home page.
At this moment in time, we don’t know when life and church life will go back to ‘normal’ but we believe that our calling to meet with God, with each other and serve the wider community is as important now than ever. We believe that God is a good God, he is loving and the one who holds us even through the tough times.
For that reason, we are trying to find new ways to do and be Church during this time. One of the ways we’re looking to continue to worship together is by launching JMC: The Home Sessions! A live stream to you, on our Facebook page, Sunday mornings at 10:45am. We will have some sung worship, a reflection and an opportunity to pray together and to share Family News together.
At the moment we are just streaming this on our Facebook Page. You don’t need a Facebook account in order to view this, just follow the link www.facebook.com/JesmondMethodistChurch. We are looking into whether this could also be done on Youtube. Check back here for the most up to date information.
In addition to this Live Stream, we will also be producing written versions of reflections and prayers lead in the live streams. Reflections and Sermons will still go up as normal on our Sermons page on the website and you can access worship music we lead as a Church at this Spotify playlist
Our midweek groups will still aim to meet each week online using different programs. If you are not currently in a midweek group and would like to be please do get in touch with our Lay Pastor, Adam, email@example.com
We are also in the process of working out how best we can serve each other and the wider community of Jesmond. We will be updating this information as soon as we can.
