We bless the well-being of all students currently studying at the universities in Newcastle. In Jesus Name, we resist the problems that affect students' ability to fulfil their potential in their studies and we say, be well, be strong, be healthy. To any who are struggling to cope with the pressures of university life right now, we bless you in the Name of Jesus with a speedy resolution to your difficulties. We bless those who suffer from mental health problems, that you will be surrounded by the support you need to overcome and effectively manage this aspect of your life. We bless every student in Newcastle, that in their decision making they will be able to resist everything that is unhealthy for them, physically and spiritually.
We bless every UK student in Newcastle, that during this time away from their family, they will be surrounded by positive influences on their life and that in turn they will make a positive impact on others in their community. We bless every wholesome activity that they are engaged in and we say, be encouraged, be enabled, to do the right thing.
We bless every international student in Newcastle that, during their stay in this city, their life will be enriched by the people and the learning they engage with. In Jesus Name, we say, be empowered to engage with your neighbours and learn from each other the value of community, that your time in Newcastle may transform communities both here and throughout the world.
We bless the organisations of Newcastle and Northumbria Universities that they will be secure, safe places for staff and students alike. We bless their wisdom in planning and in the use of their resources. We bless the opportunities for learning more about God's creation and our stewardship of the Earth that these institutions provide. In Jesus Name, we say be bold, be honest, be revolutionary in your teaching and research programmes, that you may have a significant impact on improving society and individual people's quality of life.
We bless the rich educational heritage that our local area is built on, that the Christian study of monastic communities will directly influence and enrich the current academic institutions. In the Name of Jesus, we bless the redigging of the ancient well.
We speak to the Christians in both universities and we bless them in the name of the Lord that the Holy Spirit and the Word of God may flow out from them in power. We say to those Christians who are involved directly with student work - the chaplaincy, the CU, Cathsoc, Student Life, local churches - be blessed. We bless the hearts of all who are part of the university community here that they may be quickened to hear and respond to the Voice of the Living God.
