Students and Young Adults

Here at JMC, we love Students and Young Adults. A  portion of our family at JMC is made up of students from both Universities here in Newcastle and young professionals who have all found JMC to be a welcoming and comforting place. They are a well-loved and valued part of the family here.

Our aim is to guide and encourage our students and young adults as they seek to grow in their personal faith and learn what it means to follow Jesus.

Our Life group meets, during university term times, on a Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm in the Church and we spend time together reflecting on our weeks, reading the Bible together and discussing the effect of the chosen passage in our lives.
We also bring our struggles with our individual faith to the group and support each other as we journey through this point in our lives together. We believe that this is a really safe space to bring all our own thoughts and questions. In addition to this, we meet for socials and go on outings in and around the northeast together.

We also encourage our younger members to get involved in the morning service each week so they can develop their different gifts. There are opportunities for them to share their talents in the worship band as a musician or singer, help with the audio/visual side of the service and also get involved in running things such as Prayer Evenings and outreach events.

We are a friendly and loving community made up of people of all ages and backgrounds and all students and young adults are welcome at JMC regardless of your background, or which University you belong to. So no matter who you are or what position you are in, you will be welcomed here at JMC.

The JMC Young Adults Group meets on Wednesday Evenings at 7:30pm in the Church so please do pop along.

Or you can email our student and young adult worker Adam, at students@jesmondmethodistchurch.org.uk if you would like to know more.
