Here at JMC, we believe every person is valued, unique and special to God, and because you are important to God, you are important to us. We want to welcome you, whoever you are and whatever you believe. We worship a God who loves everyone unconditionally and calls us to do the same. We believe God, by his spirit, is present and wants to meet with us.

Our prayer is that everyone who comes or visits Jesmond Methodist Church encounters God's transforming love.

As a church, we believe we are so much more than just a Sunday morning, below is a snapshot of things that happen throughout the week. Each week on our Facebook and Instagram we put up all that is going on in that week if you want to know more information

Sunday Morning Worship

Our main Sunday Morning Worship is at 10:45am. Our services can be different week to week with occasional special services such as baptisms and Cafe Church but normally you will find that they are led by our Worship Team and members of our congregation.

We start with a block of praise and sung worship. After this we have space for any members of our community to share news and testimony; we call this family news. After this our Kids group, JMK, head out to their rooms before we pray for the world. We then read our bible passage together and hear our preacher. After the sermon, the worship band will normally lead us in response. Sometimes we just sing and pray or we can do something creative in response. Once the service finishes we enjoy getting to know one another over tea, coffee and cake.

While this is our normal structure, our services sometimes change and move as the Holy Spirit Works.

Sunday Lunches

We really love spending time together and that is why you will find that after every service we have lunch together. This is different every week but involves bring and share, picnics, Soup Sundays, lunches at people's houses and trips to the local pub. This is a fantastic way to get to know one another better and feel a part of the community of JMC

House groups

We love getting together throughout the week to spend time with each other and open the Bible together. In addition to the student and young adult groups, there are four other house groups that meet throughout the week. They meet every two weeks and are hosted by different members of our congregation. They follow a 'cell' structure doing the 4 Ws: Welcome, Worship, Word and Witness.

Connect

Connect is our monthly informal worship and prayer space. It happens on the 3rd Wednesday of the Month at 7:30pm

It's a space to encounter God through informal sung worship and prayer stations in a relaxed, reflective setting.

Play Space

Play Space is our Saturday morning space for families and children to be children and have a play. Initially set up as a response to the growing number of asylum seekers and refugee families who are stuck in the hotels in Jesmond. It meets every Saturday Morning from 9:30-11:30 am. Pop in to meet people and have play for as long or as little as you want.
